CHILD CARE SUBSIDY

The Lookout Early Education Centre is an accredited centre under the Government’s Child Care Subsidy scheme.

You may be eligible for child care support if your child attends The Lookout Early Education Centre. Eligibility depends on factors including immunisation requirements, residency rules and age of the child.

Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

Child Care Subsidy is paid after attendance. Families need to submit a claim to Centrelink online and confirm enrolment of their child/ren.

The amount of CCS you can get will depend on your circumstances, your income and your activity level whether working, studying/training or other recognised activity.

There is an annual cap of $10,190 per child per financial year for most families. This will be phased out at the end of the year, see new details below:

  • From 10 December 2021, they are removing the annual cap for all families who get CCS.
  • From 7 March 2022, families with more than one child in care will get a higher subsidy.

Centrelink will withhold 5% of the subsidy to reduce the likelihood of getting an overpayment. Payments will be balanced by Centrelink at the end of the financial year.

For further information regarding the Child Care Subsidy or to submit a claim, go to the Department of Human Services website or call the Family Assistance Office on 136 150.
